Endoscopy Tech flexible start/end times based on case volume, may start as early as 6:00 AM); rotating weeknight call (typically 2 nights/week) and rotating weekend call (often one weekend day); day shift with rotating on-call nights/weekends, 30-minute call response expected. Hours per Week: 40.
Roles & Responsibilities • Assist physicians during a high-volume mix of GI procedures including EGD, colonoscopy, advanced EUS and ERCP • Perform meticulous manual scope washing and reprocessing, and operate HLD systems (Medivator DSD Edge, Olympus OER Pro) • Support complex tasks such as stent placement/exchange/removal and stone management during procedures • Prepare instruments, supplies and procedure rooms for efficient case flow across two procedure suites • Provide independent general GI procedure support (biopsy, snare, injections, banding, dilation) to ensure excellent patient care • Participate in rotating weeknight and weekend on-call coverage and respond within required call response time • Contribute to a safe, high-quality environment by following infection control and sterile technique standards
Qualifications • Minimum 2 years of endoscopy tech experience — recent practice required within the last 6 months • BLS Certification required • Demonstrated proficiency in advanced EUS, complex ERCP, stent placement/exchange/removal, and stone management (must-have) • Strong manual scope washing and handling skills and HLD experience with Medivator DSD Edge and Olympus OER Pro • Proficient and independent with general GI skills: biopsy, snare, GI bleed management, injections, lifting agents, banding, dilation • Preferred: experience with EBUS and ION • Able to self-schedule, work high-volume days (20-30 cases across 2 rooms), and complete a 5-day orientation • Able to meet a 30-minute on-call response time
Knowledge & Skills • Scope reprocessing and manual cleaning best practices • High-level disinfection systems: Medivator DSD Edge and Olympus OER Pro • Advanced endoscopic procedure workflow (EUS, ERCP, stent work, stone management) • General GI procedural support (biopsy, snare, banding, dilation) • Familiarity with acute care charting systems (facility uses Cerner) • Strong infection control, sterile technique and patient safety focus • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume endoscopy environment
