Position Summary: Under the direction of the laboratory manager, is responsible for performing laboratory tests, quality control procedures and communication with physicians, nurses and patients.
Position Qualifications: • Bachelors degree in Medical Technology or a related filed required. • Must be board eligible by NCA or ASCP and complete board certification within one year of employment • One to three years of related or progressively more responsible experience in chemistry, blood bank, hematology and microbiology or formal student internship • Certification at MT by American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or CLS by National Accrediting Agency (NCA) within one year of employment • Clinical laboratory instrumentation • Laboratory generalist • Must be capable of working independently and providing direction to Medical Laboratory Assistants.
Housing and Airfare: Housing and airfare provided. Private Housing is not provided. All housing are shared units. No Pets allowed. Airfare is paid initially by the candidate and/or the agency and will be reimbursed upon the candidate's arrival here in Bethel, AK.
Immunization Requirements from our Nurse Administrator: • Hepatitis A • Hepatitis B • Varicella • Measles • Mumps • Rubella • T-Dap Polio Or, Titers and/or the historical shot records for the candidate (Ex. Hep B is done usually from ages 1-4) If the candidate is not able to provide the shots listed above, they will not be accepted for the position.
