Roles & Responsibilities • Perform accurate clinical laboratory testing across relevant disciplines to support patient care • Process and prioritize specimens according to lab protocols and turnaround time goals • Enter and verify results in Meditech to ensure timely and reliable reporting • Maintain quality control, participate in competency checks, and document adherence to standards • Collaborate with nursing and clinical teams to clarify orders and support patient management • Troubleshoot instrumentation, escalate issues appropriately, and complete required checklists • Ensure compliance with infection control, safety protocols, and required health screenings • Contribute to a positive team environment and help onboard or mentor temporary staff when needed
Qualifications • Eligible for or certified as an MLS or MLT (title of job reflects required credential) • BLS certification required • Demonstrated experience using Meditech strongly preferred • Willingness to work nights on a 7 on/7 off rotation and cover scheduled holidays as needed • Completion of facility-required health screenings and immunizations (COVID-19, MMR, Tdap, Hep B, influenza, Varicella, TB testing or IGRA) • Successful completion of Trinity-specific competency testing and Trinity skills checklist • License and certificate verification as required by facility and state
Education • Completion of an accredited MLS/MLT program (Associate or Bachelors level) or equivalent training
Knowledge & Skills • Proficiency in Meditech or similar laboratory information systems • Solid knowledge of specimen handling, lab safety, and infection control • Experience with quality control, calibration, and troubleshooting lab instruments • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills • Ability to work independently during night shifts and communicate effectively with clinical teams • Familiarity with clinical laboratory disciplines such as chemistry, hematology, and microbiology
