13 weeks | Nights | 10-hour shift | 40 hours per week

Lead Medical Laboratory Scientists are responsible for the oversight of assigned laboratory sections performing specimen processing, test performance, and reporting test results in compliance with regulatory requirements, policy and procedures, and the TCRHCC goal of quality patient care. The position is located in a laboratory that provides sub-specialties of service in a hospital setting: chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, phlebotomy, blood bank, microbiology, and clinical microscopy. The laboratory provides 24-hour coverage and incumbent’s work rotational, day, evening, or night shifts, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime. Initially trained to perform bench technologist functions, then assigned to section(s) for lead duties.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION

Experience:

• Three (3) years of experience as a generalist in each specialty of clinical, high complexity testing in a clinical laboratory

Education:

• A Bachelor’s degree in laboratory, biological, chemical, or physical science, Healthcare, or Healthcare Management related field.

Licenses, Certifications, and Registration:

• Current, unexpired Medical Laboratory Science, Technologist, or Specialist certification from a nationally recognized certification agency.

EMR System: Allscripts experience preferred

Shift: Monday to Thursday, 6 am to 5 pm OR Tuesday to Friday with 6 am to 5 pm

Orientation: Every two (2) weeks only.

COVID Exemptions: We do not accept religious exemptions. If a candidate submits for a medical exemption, we will have to get approval from our medical review board to proceed with onboarding

Housing:  must be submitted 2 weeks before the start date
