Roles & Responsibilities • Provide compassionate direct patient care and assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility) • Monitor and document vital signs, intake/output, and patient status accurately and promptly • Support the rehab team by assisting with mobility programs and therapy activities • Communicate changes in patient condition to nurses and interdisciplinary team members • Maintain a safe, clean environment and adhere to infection control standards • Build trusting relationships with patients and families, offering dignity and respect in every interaction
Qualifications • Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (state-specific registration required) • Active and up-to-date state registry in New Mexico or ability to obtain • Comfortable working night shifts and in a rehab/long-term care setting • Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude • Willingness to complete facility orientation and any required in-service trainings
Education • High school diploma or GED preferred • Completion of an approved CNA training program and state certification
Knowledge & Skills • Skilled in basic patient care, transfers, and safe lifting techniques • Able to take and record vital signs and recognize clinical changes • Familiar with documentation best practices and electronic charting basics • Knowledgeable about infection control, PPE use, and resident safety • Teamwork, time management, and the ability to prioritize resident needs
