Geriatric Nursing Assistant

Location: Baltimore, MD

Roles & Responsibilities
• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly and clearly
• Assist with safe resident transfers, mobility, and ambulation to promote independence
• Document care accurately and timely, keeping resident records up to date
• Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents receive proper nutrition and hydration
• Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to deliver person-centered care

Qualifications
• GNA certification (required) — must hold the appropriate state credential
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility immunization requirements
• Compassionate bedside manner and comfort working with older adult populations
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work the scheduled 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM shift

Education
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Knowledge & Skills
• Familiarity with geriatric care principles and safe resident handling techniques
• Strong communication skills for interacting with residents, families, and team members
• Basic documentation skills and familiarity with care charting (paper or electronic)
• Ability to observe, recognize, and report changes in resident condition
• Teamwork mindset and a positive, patient-centered approach to care
