Geriatric Nursing Assistant days vary / not specified — evening (day-shift) coverage
Roles & Responsibilities • Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents and support their dignity • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting • Monitor and accurately record vital signs and resident condition changes • Support safe mobility and implement fall-prevention measures during transfers and ambulation • Document care thoroughly and communicate observations to nurses and the care team • Collaborate with families and interdisciplinary staff to support individualized care plans • Maintain infection control standards and adhere to facility policies for resident safety
Qualifications • GNA certification or completion of a recognized Geriatric Nursing Assistant program (required) • Current CPR/BLS certification (preferred or required per facility policy) • Prior experience working with elderly residents or in long-term care settings is a plus • Ability to pass background checks and meet facility immunization requirements • Strong interpersonal skills and a calm, patient-centered approach
Education • High school diploma or equivalent • Completion of an accredited GNA/Geriatric Nursing Assistant program
Knowledge & Skills • Knowledge of geriatric care practices and common age-related conditions • Skilled in assisting with ADLs, transfers, and safe patient handling • Ability to take and record accurate vital signs and observe clinical changes • Clear, compassionate communication with residents, families, and care teams • Basic documentation and charting skills, plus attention to detail
