Geriatric Nursing Assistant

Roles & Responsibilities
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) with dignity and respect
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Monitor and record vital signs and observe residents for changes in condition
• Provide compassionate, person-centered care that supports comfort and independence
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
• Accurately document care activities and report changes to the nursing team
• Collaborate with staff to ensure timely, coordinated care and a great resident experience

Qualifications
• Active GNA certification (required)
• Completion of an accredited GNA program or equivalent training
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen as required by facility
• Up-to-date immunizations per facility policy
• Reliable transportation to Bowie, MD and the ability to work per-diem shifts

Education
• High school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited GNA program

Knowledge & Skills
• Geriatric care principles and compassionate resident-centered approach
• Assistance with ADLs and basic patient hygiene
• Basic vital sign measurement and observation skills
• Infection control and safe handling procedures
• Clear communication and teamwork with nursing staff and care teams
• Accurate documentation and time management
