Roles & Responsibilities • Provide compassionate, resident-centered care for geriatric patients • Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and feeding • Monitor and record vital signs and behavioral observations accurately • Support safe mobility and transfers using proper techniques • Document care and communicate changes in condition to nursing staff • Create a calm, respectful environment that promotes dignity and comfort
Qualifications • Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) or equivalent certification preferred • Experience working with older adults or in long-term care settings is a plus • Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain • Ability to pass background check, TB screening, and any required health screenings • Strong communication skills and a patient, compassionate approach
Education • High school diploma or GED preferred • GNA certification or completion of an approved nursing assistant program
Knowledge & Skills • Understanding of basic geriatric care and age-related needs • Proficient with documentation and charting of resident care • Infection control and safe handling practices • Safe transfer and mobility assistance techniques • Teamwork and clear communication with nursing and support staff • Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
