Roles & Responsibilities • Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents: assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding • Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team promptly • Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control best practices • Support mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices • Communicate clearly and kindly with residents and families to promote trust and dignity • Collaborate with nurses and support staff to deliver coordinated, person-centered care
Qualifications • Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in North Carolina • Current CPR/BLS certification (or willing to obtain upon hire) • Placement on the North Carolina Nurse Aide Registry as required • Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, turning, and assisting with mobility • Previous long-term care or acute care experience is a plus but not always required
Education • High school diploma or GED preferred • Completion of an approved CNA training program and state certification
Knowledge & Skills • Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and resident care routines • Basic vital signs monitoring and documentation skills • Familiarity with electronic charting or willingness to learn • Infection control and hand hygiene best practices • Effective teamwork and clear communication with clinical staff • Time management and prioritization during busy shifts
