Occupational Therapist - Acute Care
Roles & Responsibilities • Provide skilled occupational therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans that restore patient function • Deliver hands-on treatment and therapeutic interventions in the acute rehab setting to optimize discharge outcomes • Collaborate closely with PT, SLP, nursing, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate seamless patient care • Document thoroughly and timely using Cerner to ensure continuity of care and accurate charting • Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as part of the facility staffing model • Follow hospital policies including uniform guidelines and infection control practices
Qualifications • Current California Occupational Therapy license required • Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty with at least 1 year of acute care hospital experience • BLS certification required • COVID-19 vaccination required (per facility policy) • Experience with Cerner or similar EMR strongly preferred • Open to first-time travel clinicians with required licensure and experience
Knowledge & Skills • Skilled in acute care OT evaluations and treatment planning • Familiarity with inpatient rehab workflows and interdisciplinary collaboration • Comfortable with Cerner charting and electronic documentation • Ability to manage caseloads in a Trauma Level 2 acute setting • Experience working weekends/holidays and in rotating schedules • Strong communication and patient/family education skills
