PT (Physical Therapist) occasional one day per week 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM; one weekend every third weekend (you will have the Monday and Friday off those weekends), Day shift. Roles & Responsibilities • Assess, plan, and deliver high-quality acute inpatient physical therapy interventions for medical, orthopedic, and neurologic patients • Develop individualized treatment plans for post-op TKA/THA, spinal surgery, CVA, and deconditioned patients • Provide timely, accurate documentation in Cerner and maintain clear clinical records • Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and the multidisciplinary rehab team to optimize patient outcomes • Prioritize and manage a caseload of approximately 12 patients per day while maintaining clinical excellence • Educate patients and families on safe mobility, home exercise programs, and fall prevention • Supervise and coordinate with rehab aides as assigned to ensure efficient patient care and throughput • Participate in department orientation and cross-training across Medical/Surgical, ICU, and ER areas
Qualifications • Active California Physical Therapy license required • Current BLS (AHA) certification required • Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient physical therapy experience • Experience treating orthopedic (TKA/THA), spinal surgery, and neurological (CVA) patients • Comfortable covering Medical/Surgical, ICU, and ER settings • Ability to use Cerner for documentation and charting • Willingness to follow department dress code (burgundy polo and scrubs or khaki bottoms) and participate in orientation
Knowledge & Skills • Expertise in acute inpatient physical therapy practices and protocols • Strong assessment and treatment planning skills for orthopedic and neurologic diagnoses • Familiarity with Cerner electronic charting and documentation workflows • Able to manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining patient-centered care • Skilled in mobility training, transfers, gait training, and discharge planning • Excellent interdisciplinary communication and teamwork • Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced acute care environment • Comfort working in ICU and assisting with early mobilization protocols
