Physical Therapist 8-hour shifts standard with flexibility for PT travelers to work 10-hour weekend split schedules (examples: Wed-Sat or Sun-Wed) as needed Hours per Week: 40
Roles & Responsibilities • Provide skilled physical therapy evaluation and treatment for adult and geriatric inpatient populations, focusing on orthopedic, neurological, medical, and pulmonary diagnoses • Deliver outpatient and occasional home health services at the off-site outpatient center as needed • Participate in the early mobility program, including vent early mobility protocols and level 2 interventions • Collaborate closely with nurses, physicians, respiratory therapists, and rehab team members to coordinate patient-centered care • Document care accurately and efficiently in Cerner EMR to support continuity and compliance • Support stroke program initiatives (NIH stroke certification in use) and contribute to quality improvement efforts • Assist with wound care, pulmonary rehab, and discharge planning to optimize patient outcomes • Mentor and work alongside PTAs, OTRs, COTAs, and therapy aides to ensure cohesive therapy delivery
Qualifications • Valid California Physical Therapy license required • BLS (AHA) certification required • Minimum 2 years of clinical PT experience (inpatient acute care experience strongly preferred) • Comfortable with telemetry patients and basic ventilator familiarity (2-6 vents typical) • Experience with Cerner EMR preferred • Ability to float across inpatient, outpatient, and home health settings • NIH Stroke certification, pediatric or geriatric experience, and wound care skills are a plus
Knowledge & Skills • Inpatient acute hospital care and early mobility protocols • Outpatient therapy and home health visit workflows • Telemetry patient management and familiarity with ventilator considerations • Orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation techniques • Pulmonary rehabilitation and wound care basics • Skilled documentation in Cerner EMR • Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and interdisciplinary collaboration
