Radiation Therapist - Oncology
Location: Columbus, OH Start Date: 03-23-2026 End Date: 06-29-2026 Contract Type: Travel Contract Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM (Day). First week onboarding: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Note: 10-hour shifts may be scheduled during holiday weeks to accommodate 40 guaranteed hours. Hours per Week: 40
Roles & Responsibilities • Deliver safe, compassionate radiation therapy treatments using Varian TrueBeam and Halcyon systems • Operate ARIA oncology information system (version 15) to document treatments and manage patient schedules • Perform CBCT/kV/mV imaging, setup verification, and accurate patient positioning for each fraction • Execute dosimetry checks and routine chart checks to ensure treatment accuracy and patient safety • Support complex procedures such as SRS, DIBH, electron fields and total body/skin irradiation as needed • Respond competently to emergencies and assist with crash cart/defibrillator use when required • Collaborate with physicians, physicists, dosimetrists and multidisciplinary teams to optimize care plans • Educate patients and families about treatment expectations and comfort measures throughout the course of therapy
Qualifications • ARRT (Radiation Therapy) certification required • Ohio state radiation therapy license required • ACLS and BLS certifications required • Minimum 2 years of radiation therapy experience (5 years preferred) • Competency on Varian TrueBeam and Halcyon linacs and ARIA (v15) required • Experience with VisionRT/OSMS, DIBH, SRS and pediatric care is strongly preferred • Comfort working in teaching hospital and adult/pediatric outpatient or acute care settings
Education • Completion of an accredited Radiation Therapy program • ARRT (Radiation Therapy) certification and Ohio state licensure required
Knowledge & Skills • Proficient with TrueBeam and Halcyon treatment units • Skilled using ARIA oncology information system (version 15) • CBCT, kV/mV imaging and setup verification expertise • Solid dosimetry knowledge and ability to perform accurate chart checks • Experience with SRS, electron fields and advanced positioning techniques (DIBH, immobilization) • Ability to manage emergency situations including crash cart and defibrillator use • Strong patient communication, interdisciplinary teamwork and documentation skills
