MRI Technologist Location: Carbondale, IL Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM (Evening), call shared up to 10 days/month, every other weekend rotation Hours per Week: 36
Roles & Responsibilities • Perform MRI exams with care and precision to produce diagnostic-quality images • Operate and utilize the PACS imaging system correctly for image storage and retrieval • Maintain IV/contrast competency to support contrast-enhanced studies safely • Collaborate with radiologists to check MRI schedules and verify appropriate scan protocols • Assist in clerical and office duties to help keep the department efficient and patient-focused • Contribute to a smooth patient experience by following department dress code and safety procedures
Qualifications • ARRT certification in Radiology/MRI required • IEMA licensure for Illinois practitioners as required • CPR certification required • AMT or ASCP certification considered a plus • 1 year of technical MRI experience preferred • Willingness to participate in shared on-call schedule and every-other-weekend rotation
Education • Associates degree in Radiology or relevant certification
Knowledge & Skills • Proficient in MRI operation and imaging protocols • Comfortable using PACS for image management • Experience with IV/contrast administration and competency maintenance • Familiarity with EPIC and Safe Trace is a plus • Strong communication skills for coordinating with radiologists and supporting staff • Attention to detail and ability to handle clerical tasks to support department workflow
