MRI Tech - Radiology typical 12-hour rotation per unit schedule)
Roles & Responsibilities • Operate GE Discovery 1.5T MRI equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images • Perform MRI scans with care and precision to provide clear information for clinicians • Ensure patient safety and comfort, including screening for MRI contraindications • Document procedures and patient information accurately in Meditech • Collaborate with radiology and clinical teams to prioritize urgent studies • Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment and escalate issues appropriately • Follow infection control, safety policies, and MRI safety zone procedures • Provide compassionate, patient-centered care while working independently on night shifts
Qualifications • ARRT certification required • BLS certification required • ACLS preferred but not required • Minimum 2 years of MRI technologist experience • Experience with GE Discovery 1.5T MRI systems • Familiarity with Meditech or similar EMR for documenting exams • Ability to work independently, flexible schedule, comfortable working nights and weekends
Knowledge & Skills • Strong knowledge of MRI safety protocols and patient screening • Proficient in MRI physics and pulse sequence selection for quality imaging • Skilled in patient positioning and immobilization for diagnostic accuracy • Good communication skills for interacting with patients and multidisciplinary teams • Troubleshooting skills for basic equipment and workflow issues • Attention to detail for image quality control and accurate documentation
