MRI Technologist rotating weeknight and weekend on-call coverage including overnight shifts; mixed 9-, 10- and 12-hour shifts (rotating). Weekend requirement: every 4th weekend for day shift, every other for overnight shifts.
Roles & Responsibilities • Perform high-quality MRI exams on adults, geriatrics and occasional pediatric patients, ensuring patient comfort and imaging excellence • Operate and troubleshoot Siemens Espree, Siemens Trio and GE Architect MRI scanners with attention to safety and protocol fidelity • Provide MRI exams involving sedation or general anesthesia and manage patient care with the anesthesia team when required • Safely image patients with conditional pacemakers following institutional policies • Perform breast MRI studies with precision and attention to diagnostic quality • Float to CT and cover X-ray when assigned, especially during night shifts — flexibility matters • Document exams accurately in EPIC and archive images in McKesson PACS • Respond to on-call and weekend coverage needs professionally and within response-time expectations
Qualifications • ARRT certified (required) and BLS certification (required) • Minimum 2 years of MRI technologist experience • Drivers license required at submittal to confirm radius eligibility (50-mile radius rule applies) • Demonstrated experience with MRI scanners listed (Siemens Espree, Siemens Trio, GE Architect) preferred • CT and X-ray experience required for night-shift candidates • Experience with MRI under sedation/general anesthesia, pediatric MRI, breast MRI, and imaging patients with conditional pacemakers is a strong plus • Ability to adhere to facility policies (e.g., fingernail/artificial nail policy) and maintain professional standards
Knowledge & Skills • Skilled in MRI imaging protocols and radiation safety practices • Familiarity with EPIC for charting and McKesson PACS for image management • Comfortable operating Siemens and GE MRI systems and adapting to multiple scanner platforms • Strong patient care skills across adult, geriatric and pediatric populations • Trauma and acute care experience a plus for fast-paced environments • Ability to handle on-call responsibilities and respond promptly
