POSITION OVERVIEW: Produces high quality images that meet the standards established by the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) and the Mayo Clinic Radiology Department. Requires competence in a variety of equipment and technology. Practices safety guidelines for themselves, support personnel and patients. Fosters teamwork through effective communication. Maintains flexibility to staff various work locations, shift times and lengths. Ability to work varied hours, shift lengths which may include days, evenings, and weekends.
ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS: Organized, efficient and multifunctional. Ability to work independently. Requires excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrate effective communication.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Must have an Associate's degree in a related field and be a graduate of an accredited radiography program. Incumbents hired into the role prior to February 15, 2018, are required to be a graduate of an accredited radiography program.
Annual documentation of ARRT certification required. Advanced AART certification and documentation in mammography preferred. Additional credentialing may be required for advanced modalities within Breast Imaging. Technologists will be required to maintain their mammography certification and may be scheduled to work in mammography and ultrasound.
8 hour shifts, Mon-Fri, Must be available for all shifts. 7a-3:30p, 8a-4:30p, 8:30a-5p, 9:30a-6p, 1:30p-10p Every 7th weekend required 8AM-8PM, Call is required with a 30 minute response time 6AM-10PM every 17th weekend.
