Unit Notes: • Strict 75 mile radius rule • Unit: 2C Observation Unit • # of beds: 22 • Ratios: 1:5 or 1:6 • Charge in staffing • Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS not required, but highly recommended • Common diagnoses/Types of patients: miscellanous - medical observation unit • Experience or 'Must have' skills: Common titratable &/or set rate drips (Heparin only) • Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Yes-occasionally have patients • Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: CNA-2 if able for floor • RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc): No Vents • Is there tele on this unit: Monitor Techs RNs read strips. Heavy tele unit. Monitored by Central monitoring • Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling Block scheduling): Weekend Requirements: Every Other Weekend • Holiday Requirements: Rotate with perm staff • Is there call or a standby requirement: no call • Floating Requirements: Yes to med surg • Scrub Color/Dress Code: Caribbean Blue top and bottom OR White top and Caribbean Blue bottom OR all white top/bottom. • Unit/Department specific orientation: 3 shift • Additional Notes: fast paced unit, high turn over, D/C or admission from here. • Additional Questions: D/C up to 16/day and refill on this unit. FAST paced. • RN do own EKGs, draw own labs. • Cancellation Policy: 12 hours every 2 weeks • Charting System: MEDITECH • BSN Required: No • License to Submit: Yes • Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week
