Registered Nurse - Emergency Department
Location: Arlington, TX Start Date: 03-09-2025 End Date: 06-08-2025 Contract Type: Travel Contract Shift Type: Days: Not specified, 3:00 PM - 3:00 AM (12-hour night shift) Hours per Week: 36
Roles & Responsibilities • Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care in the emergency department for diverse patient presentations • Rapidly assess and triage patients to prioritize care based on acuity • Stabilize and manage emergency conditions using evidence-based interventions • Administer medications, IV therapy, and other treatments safely and accurately • Collaborate with physicians, providers, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care • Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly and timely in the medical record • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and aftercare in a clear, reassuring way • Participate in unit-based problem solving and continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications • Current, unrestricted RN license (TX license or Nurse Licensure Compact) required • Minimum 1 year of recent emergency department nursing experience • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred • Current ACLS/PALS/other advanced certifications as applicable or willingness to obtain • Ability to pass background checks and meet hospital onboarding requirements
Education • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) • BSN preferred but not required
Knowledge & Skills • Strong emergency assessment and triage skills with quick clinical decision-making • Competence with IV therapy, medication administration, wound care, and urgent procedures • Clear, professional communication with patients, families, and the care team • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and prioritizing multiple tasks • Familiarity with electronic health record documentation and basic computer skills • Team-oriented attitude with a focus on patient safety and quality outcomes
