Registered Nurse - Telemetry primarily nights with every-other-week (EOW) scheduling, includes weekend coverage (night weekend night shift (first-to-float, EOW) Hours per Week: 36
Roles & Responsibilities • Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms accurately using Phillips telemetry to keep patients safe • Perform thorough patient assessments and respond to changes in condition promptly • Provide skilled nursing care for a diverse acute telemetry population including post-pacer, new-onset AFib/RVR, hemodialysis patients, and step-down transfers • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (RT, pharmacy, hospitalists/intensivists) to coordinate care • Manage ventilatory support needs as directed (CPAP/BiPAP in collaboration with RT) • Chart timely and accurately in Cerner to ensure continuity of care • Float to sister units (MSW, MHB, ICU/ER holds) as needed while maintaining quality standards • Respond to call/standby within required timeframe and participate in charge/shift manager communication as needed
Qualifications • Active RN license eligible for submission in California (license to submit required) • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (telemetry or acute care experience preferred) • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required • NIHSS certification required • Comfortable reading and interpreting all cardiac rhythms (Phillips telemetry experience strongly preferred) • Familiarity with Cerner charting system • Able to float between units and work nights, weekends, and holiday rotation
Education • Active RN license (California submission required) • BSN not required
Knowledge & Skills • Telemetry nursing and cardiac rhythm interpretation • Patient assessment and acute care management • Experience with Phillips telemetry monitors • Cerner EMR documentation • Familiarity with Omnicell medication systems • Comfort managing hemodialysis patients and high-acuity stepdown cases • Basic ventilator support knowledge (CPAP/BiPAP) and working with RT • Ability to prioritize in a 1:4 ratio environment
