Our Client is currently seeking Med Surg for positions in Bottineau, North Dakota for a 3x12 Rotating, 07:00:00-19:00:00, 12.00-3 shift. The ideal candidate will possess a current North Dakota license. This is a RN position in the Med Surg type:Med Surg (Medical Surgical). You must have a Nursing License and at least 2 years of recent experience as a RN Med Surg.

Unit Notes: • Unit: Medsurg • Beds: 25 • Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:3-6 for MS; 1:10-13 for Swing bed • Common diagnoses/Types of patients: DM, MI, CHF, A. Fib, Cellulitis, GI Bleeds, UTI, Pneumonia, COVID, Chest Pain, Gastroenteritis, Falls, Weakness, Electrolyte imbalances, COPD. Large elderly population with chronic conditions. • Experience or 'Must have' skills: Must have 1 year of MS experience. • Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Insulin, Heparin, and most meds until transferred out to another, if warranted • Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: No tele techs on unit, RNs required to read and interpret their own strips, Phillips. • Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Charge RN, typically have a light patient assignment. • Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: Yes, ratios dependent on staffing and census. • RT Equipment (i.e., Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, vents, etc.): No RT, staff do ABGs, Breathing Tx, & 12 Lead EKGs • Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): RNs/LPNS: 3- 12 Hr shifts, Day/Night Rotation, Modified Self- Scheduling. Nothing is finalized until scheduled has been balanced, Travelers asked to be flexible and help fill gaps in permanent scheduling. • CNAs: 8s or 12s: day/night Rotation, scheduling done by leadership. • Weekend Requirement: RNs/LPNS: Every other to every 3rd Weekend. CNAs: Every other. • Holiday Requirement: May be asked to go in the Holiday Rotation. • Is there Call or a Standby requirement?: None • Floating Requirements? MS/Swing bed to ER, ER to MS/Swing bed. • Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs provided?: Any color/print scrubs, closed toed shoes. • Unit/Department specific orientation: 4-8 shifts depending on what areas/roles they will be working. • Additional Notes: All positions work in the acute Med/Surg, Swing bed, & ER; Access/De-access ports, PICC, Wound Care/wound Vac, Mixing/Preparing Medications.
