Our Client is currently seeking Med Surg for positions in Cheyenne, Wyoming for a 3x12 Nights, 19:00:00-07:00:00, 12.00-3 shift. The ideal candidate will possess a current Wyoming license. This is a RN position in the SONU (Ortho/Neuro/Surg) type:Med Surg (Medical Surgical). You must have a Nursing License and at least 2 years of recent experience as a RN Med Surg. Unit Notes: • Drip Management: Nurses must titrate drips including Heparin and Ketamine (set rate), antibiotics, and blood products. • IV Management: Nurses will manage frequent IV treatments. • Tele/Monitor Techs: The unit has monitor techs to read strips, but prior telemetry reading experience is preferred. The telemetry system uses monitors. • Staffing & Support: • Charge Nurse: Starts one hour before the rest of the staff (05:45-06:15) and is typically kept out of patient assignments to act as a resource. • Nurse Aides: CNA ratios are typically 1:8-12. Some CNA II staff can assist with tasks such as removing IVs and Foleys. • Respiratory Therapy/Equipment: The unit uses BiPAP, CPAP, and nasal cannulas (NC).
Scheduling & Shifts: • Shift Times: 06:45 - 19:15 • Self-Scheduling: Staff can self-schedule and work with the secretary to block out schedules for the contract. Block scheduling is available, but flexibility is requested. • Weekend Requirements: 4 weekend shifts within a 4-week period. • Holiday Requirements: Required to work some holidays. • On-Call/Standby: Some on-call shifts may occur due to low census, but staff are typically called back in. • Floating Requirements: RNs may float to Medical, Medical Oncology, and Telemetry units, which run cardiac drips. • Scrub Policy: Navy blue scrubs with the CRMC logo are required.
Orientation: • Unit-Specific Orientation: 2-3 shifts during the first week.
Additional Notes: • Must be willing to care for COVID patients. • The unit is fast-paced with high turnover. • Nurses are provided with phones and trackers. • This is a Magnet facility with stroke and bariatric certifications. • Overtime (OT) is allowed when needed, and there may be opportunities to precept. • Cancellation Policy: 2 per 13 week assignment • Charting System: EPIC • BSN Required: • License to Submit: Yes • Trauma Level: 2 • Care Setting: Acute • Division: Nursing • Shift Notes: 12N. will work holidays, will be required to work on call • Required Certifications: BLS Certification, NIHSS.
