Unit Name: Medical Specialties/Acute Inpatient. This is a general medical unit. Experience is required, multiple medications given, safety is priority. Number of Beds/Cases: 32. Nurse Patient Ratio: Nights 1:6 (Not guaranteed). Nurses may be asked to take up to 8 patients, and they must be willing to take 8 when needed. Top 10 Diagnosis/Procedures: • Respiratory (Covid, Pneumonia) • Renal (End stage renal disease, UTI) • Endocrine (Diabetes) • Gastrointestinal (GI bleed, pancreatitis) • Dementia • Altered Mental Status • Infectious Diseases (MRSA, Cdiff) Common Medications used on the unit: multiple pharmacy. Common Equipment: IV pumps, bladder scanners, lifts, beds, O2, CPAP, hepa machines. Required/Preferred Skills: • Line Management/Skills Preferred: PICC/Central Line Management; Vascular Device Access/Care; Dialysis Fistula Care/Management • Required: IV Insertion • Airway Skills: Required: CPAP/BiPAP • Ortho/MS/Onc Skills: Required: Feeding Tubes; Wound Vac • Preferred: Epidural/PCA pumps Additional Information: Boone Health can downstaff travelers 36/48 hours in a 13-week contract based on their weekly schedule.
