Roles & Responsibilities • Administer chemotherapy and manage post-chemotherapy body fluid precautions with precision and safety • Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias to quickly identify patient changes • Provide comprehensive BMT and hematology/oncology care including autologous, allogeneic and syngeneic transplant support • Manage central lines, ports and PICC lines including blood draws and access care • Administer and monitor blood products and IV infusions according to protocol • Respond as an active member of Rapid Response Teams to stabilize patients in crisis • Perform feeding tube care and other advanced procedures while maintaining meticulous documentation in Epic • Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners (PT, RT, Pharmacy, Social Work) to create patient-centered plans and improve outcomes
Qualifications • ONS Chemotherapy Certification is required • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year of recent hematology/oncology and MS/Telemetry experience (must meet experience requirements within the last 3 years) • Experience with telemetry monitoring and interpretation, IV therapy/infusions, and blood product administration • Experience using Epic or a similar electronic charting system • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Oncology Certified (ONCC) are preferred
Knowledge & Skills • Telemetry monitoring and telemetry interpretation (dysrhythmia recognition) • Chemotherapy administration and safe handling of body fluids post-chemotherapy • Bone marrow transplant care, CAR-T therapy familiarity, and stem cell transplant management • Central line/implanted line care, port management and PICC line skills • Feeding tube care and enteral therapy management • Infection prevention, isolation precautions and appropriate PPE use • Rapid Response Team utilization and sepsis recognition/management • Competency with Alaris pumps, GE telemetry/B450 monitors and basic unit equipment
