Registered Nurse - Hemodialysis weekly minimum of one stand-by shift 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat); once-per-month 24-hour Sunday stand-by 7:00 AM Sunday - 7:00 AM Monday (plus one monthly backup 24-hour Sunday stand-by). Role includes travel between four hospital campuses (Denville, Dover, Passaic, Newark) and occasional LTAC coverage; rotating day and stand-by schedule including weekends. Hours per Week: 36
Roles & Responsibilities • Provide safe, high-quality hemodialysis care across multiple hospital campuses, ensuring patient comfort and clinical accuracy • Perform and document dialysis treatments, monitoring patient responses and adjusting care per protocol • Respond to stand-by assignments and manage patient needs during 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM coverage as required • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across Denville, Dover, Passaic, Newark and LTAC partners to ensure continuity of care • Complete required competency exams and skills checklists to maintain readiness and compliance • Stay on-site to complete an additional dialysis shift when required to maintain patient safety and staffing needs
Qualifications • Active Registered Nurse (RN) with hemodialysis experience • Current BLS and ACLS certifications • DCI/BVP competency (or equivalent) and successful License/Certificate Verification • Experience with ECG rhythm interpretation and basic pharmacology preferred • Comfortable with multi-campus coverage and occasional LTAC assignments • Ability to pass required health screenings (vaccinations, TB test, drug screen, fit test, etc.)
Knowledge & Skills • In-depth knowledge of hemodialysis procedures and patient safety practices • Proficiency in ECG rhythm interpretation and dialysis machine operation • Strong assessment and clinical decision-making skills during high-acuity and stand-by periods • Familiarity with Prime core competencies, skills checklists, and specialty exam processes • Ability to adapt to changing clinical environments across multiple hospital campuses
