Roles & Responsibilities • Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care in the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases • Serve as the circulating nurse to coordinate patient care, equipment, and staff during surgical procedures • Advocate for patients and ensure their safety, comfort, and dignity throughout the surgical experience • Utilize the nursing process and established standards of care, policies, and procedures to guide clinical decisions • Direct and supervise assigned personnel, communicating clearly with the Unit Nurse Manager and RN leadership • Document patient care activities accurately and communicate handoffs effectively to interdisciplinary teams
Qualifications • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (eligible to practice in Oregon) • Experience in perioperative/surgical nursing and functioning as a circulating nurse • Proven ability to provide preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative patient care • Demonstrated patient advocacy and supervision/team leadership experience • Familiarity with nursing process, policies & procedures, and standards of care relevant to the OR
Knowledge & Skills • Perioperative nursing principles across pre-op, intra-op and post-op phases • Circulating nurse responsibilities and OR workflow coordination • Surgical patient care and safety practices • Effective patient advocacy and interdisciplinary communication • Ability to supervise and direct assigned personnel while liaising with nurse leadership
