Registered Nurse - Flex Pool (Night) scheduled 36 hours/week following first week of orientation. Hours per Week: 36
Roles & Responsibilities • Provide safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to adult medical and surgical patients during night shifts • Float confidently between medical, surgical (Laulima) and occasional cardiovascular units to meet patient needs • Assess, monitor and manage complex devices and procedures such as wound vacs and chest tubes • Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Meditech EMR and manage medication administration using Pyxis • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient-centered care and safe handoffs • Educate patients and families on care plans, procedures and discharge needs • Prioritize patient safety and adhere to infection control and hospital policies during all shifts
Qualifications • Active RN license in Hawaii required by start date (travelers must apply immediately if not currently licensed) • Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience • Current BLS required • ACLS required • Preferred certifications: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC • Comfortable floating across units and adapting to varying patient ratios and acuity • Professional nursing attire and ability to complete unit-specific orientation
Knowledge & Skills • Proficient with Meditech EMR for documentation and charting • Experience using Pyxis medication cabinets • Clinical skills managing wound vacs and chest tubes • Strong assessment, triage and critical thinking skills for medical-surgical and cardiovascular patients • Ability to work independently on night shift and collaborate during handoffs • Familiarity with nurse-to-patient ratio expectations in med, surgical and CV units
