Hours per Week: 40
Roles & Responsibilities • Provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients in an inpatient behavioral health setting • Maintain a safe, therapeutic milieu grounded in trauma-informed practices • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary treatment team to develop, implement, and document individualized treatment plans • Manage crisis situations using de-escalation and restraint-reduction techniques when necessary • Serve as a float nurse across units and assume charge responsibilities as assigned • Accurately document patient care and assessments in the Electronic Medical Record • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members to support recovery-focused care • Coach, delegate, and support team members to promote a cohesive, empowered clinical environment
Qualifications • Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license required • Minimum of 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience required • CPR certification required • Previous psychiatric inpatient and/or substance use inpatient experience preferred • Experience with restraint reduction, de-escalation, and crisis intervention preferred • Comfort and willingness to float across units and assume charge nurse responsibilities • Proficient with Electronic Medical Records and basic computer/typing skills • Strong communication, time management, delegation, and teamwork abilities
Education • Active RN license in Massachusetts (required) • BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills • Solid knowledge of psychiatric and behavioral health nursing principles • Familiarity with substance abuse treatment modalities and co-occurring disorders • Trauma-informed recovery model of care and therapeutic relationship building • Crisis management and de-escalation skills • Ability to apply nursing process and clinical judgment in high-stress situations • Effective oral and written communication and documentation skills • Team building, coaching, and leadership skills for charge nurse duties
