Registered Nurse - House Supervisor
Registered Nurse - House Supervisor schedule is variable with weekend coverage (typically every 3rd weekend, sometimes every other). Hours per function as a charge nurse and clinical expert resource. Ensure accurate, timely documentation in Epic and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements. Lead or participate in root cause analyses, incident reporting, and risk management activities. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (PT, RT, pharmacy, social services, radiology) to support patient care. Float between units and facilities as needed and coordinate logistics when working across sites.
Qualifications • Registered Nurse (RN) with 5+ years of clinical experience — ED or ICU experience required • Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required); PALS highly desired; NRP preferred • Travel nursing experience required and comfort floating between units/facilities • Previous charge nurse or house supervisor experience preferred • Epic charting experience (required) • Comfort with basic medication preparation (mixing some antibiotics and basic pressors) and high-acuity care in a critical access environment • Valid drivers license and reliable vehicle required for this assignment • Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including weekends and occasional schedule variability
Knowledge & Skills • Patient assessment, triage and emergency care • Bed management and patient flow optimization • Code management and rapid response leadership • Staff scheduling, staffing models and productivity standards • Epic EMR proficiency and charting accuracy • Infection control, isolation procedures and IV insertion/maintenance • Regulatory knowledge (DPH, TJC, OSHA) and root cause analysis • De-escalation, crisis intervention and managing assaultive behavior • Experience with EMR conversions, project implementation and change management
