Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans. Prepares and administers (orally, subcutaneously, through an IV) and records prescribed medications. Reports adverse reactions to medications or treatments. Educates patients on surgical procedures. Records patients’ medical information and vital signs. Monitors and adjusts specialized equipment used on patients, and interprets and records electronic displays.

Special Procedures/Unit Details: The Medicine Unit at Mon Health Medical Center is a dynamic 34-bed unit dedicated to providing exceptional care for patients with a wide range of acute medical conditions. Our team of experienced and developing nurses collaborates closely to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a challenging yet rewarding environment. Our dedicated team of registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, clinical assistants, unit clerks, and patient care technicians collaborate to provide exceptional care, aligning with Mon Health's standards of excellence. We utilize an acuity tool to optimize patient assignments and ensure appropriate staffing levels. Clinical nurse coordinators provide leadership on every shift, facilitating daily huddles, managing patient flow, and rounding on patients. The nurse manager maintains a strong presence on the unit, actively engaging with staff and patients daily.
