RN ICU PER DIEM
Location: National City, CA

End Date: 02-28-2027
Contract Type: Travel Contract

Roles & Responsibilities
• Provide compassionate, evidence-based critical care to adult ICU patients
• Assess, monitor and interpret complex hemodynamic and ventilator data
• Administer medications and treatments safely and per unit protocols
• Perform stroke assessments using NIHSS when indicated
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Document assessments, interventions and changes in patient condition accurately in the medical record
• Participate in required competency exams, skills checklists and specialty testing
• Adhere to infection control, immunization and occupational health requirements

Qualifications
• Active RN license in California (Nursys registration noted)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• NIHSS and DCI/BVP certifications or the ability to obtain them
• Comfortable working in an ICU / critical care environment
• Ability to complete required screenings: drug screen, TB, vaccines, fit test, and health clearance
• Strong teamwork, communication skills, and attention to detail

Knowledge & Skills
• Critical care assessment and prioritization
• Ventilator management and respiratory support basics
• Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation
• ACLS protocols and advanced cardiac life support skills
• Stroke assessment (NIHSS) and acute neurologic monitoring
• Electronic health record documentation and charting
• Ability to perform under pressure with calm, clear communication
