Hours per at least 1 year caring for cardiac/CVICU patient population preferred
Certifications • NIHSS required per unit • Hands-on experience with ECMO, IABP, Impella and CRRT strongly preferred • Comfortable titrating drips and managing complex cardiac and post-op open heart patients
Willingness to complete a pass/fail orientation skills exam (90% required to pass)
Education • Active RN license required • BSN not required (ADN or diploma accepted); professional development encouraged
Knowledge & Skills • Titration of vasopressors, sedatives, paralytics, and antiarrhythmics • Mechanical circulatory support knowledge: ECMO, IABP, Impella • Renal replacement therapy fundamentals, including CRRT • Advanced telemetry and strip interpretation • EPIC charting proficiency • Care for post-operative open heart and complex thoracic and vascular patients • Comfort working without CNA support on unit and collaborating with in-house intensivists
