Registered Nurse - ICU schedule varies by unit needs and includes every-other weekend and holiday coverage (manager-created schedule). Hours per charge nurse present for oversight and leadership. Perform invasive device management and monitoring (CVPs, A-lines, Swan-Ganz, EV-1000, ICP monitoring) with training provided as needed. Document care thoroughly in EPIC and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including fellows and residents. Participate in unit initiatives to improve patient outcomes and foster a positive team environment.
Qualifications • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state licensure required at time of submission) • Minimum 2 years of acute care or ICU nursing experience • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (current and valid at submission) • Ability to pass an orientation skills exam (open-book) with a required score of 90% during orientation • Comfortable with 12-hour night shifts and every-other weekend/holiday rotation • Willingness to float to other inpatient units (excluding Maternity/NICU)
Education • Active RN license in the state of practice • Clinical experience and certifications prioritized
Knowledge & Skills • Proficient with EPIC charting and electronic documentation workflows • Strong cardiac monitoring interpretation and telemetry strip reading skills • Competent in ventilator management and ventilator troubleshooting basics • Experience titrating vasoactive drips and managing complex medication infusions • Familiarity or willingness to be trained on CRRT, Swan-Ganz catheters, ICP monitoring and mechanical circulatory support (Impella/balloon pump) • Ability to work in a trauma/tertiary care environment with high acuity and fast volume fluctuations • Excellent critical thinking, communication and teamwork skills
