Registered Nurse - CVICU every other weekend required. Hours per NIHSS required per unit. Minimum 2 years RN experience (unit requires at least 1 year caring for CVICU/complex cardiac surgical patients). Experience with ECMO, Impella, IABP, CRRT, and post-op cardiac/vascular care strongly preferred. Competence interpreting cardiac rhythms and titrating drips independently. Comfortable with EPIC charting and bedside ventilator troubleshooting. Successful completion of an open-book orientation exam (90% pass required) and unit-specific orientation shifts.
Education • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN) • BSN preferred but not required
Knowledge & Skills • Critical care nursing principles and cardiac ICU workflows • Advanced cardiac life support and rhythm interpretation • Mechanical circulatory support systems (ECMO, Impella, IABP) • Continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) knowledge • Medication/drip titration and vasoactive management • Ventilator basics and bedside troubleshooting • Familiarity with EPIC electronic health record • Strong assessment, clinical judgment, and multidisciplinary communication skills
