Roles & Responsibilities • Deliver advanced critical care to adult and adolescent patients in a Level I Trauma ICU • Manage ventilators and respiratory support, troubleshooting and collaborating with RTs • Titrate vasoactive and sedative drips (vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, antiarrhythmics) safely and according to protocol • Continuously monitor and interpret telemetry (Draeger monitoring) and act on acute changes • Support trauma resuscitations and rapid clinical interventions alongside multidisciplinary teams • Operate and respond to specialized equipment and protocols (Zoll Thermoguard, rapid transfuse/Bellmont) • Document patient care accurately and timely in EPIC • Serve in charge or unit leadership roles when assigned and contribute to a positive team culture • Complete required orientation learning and pass the open-book exam (90% pass threshold) to demonstrate competency
Qualifications • Active RN license (able to submit for facility credentialing) • Minimum 2 years of relevant critical care/ICU experience • Current ACLS and BLS certifications and NIHSS required • Drivers license required at submittal to confirm radius eligibility • Clean license and background—NO license or background hits accepted • No first-time travelers accepted (experienced travelers only) • Willingness to adhere to facility policies (e.g., artificial nails prohibited) • Ability to titrate drips, interpret telemetry, and manage ventilators
Education • Active RN license (state appropriate) • BSN not required
Knowledge & Skills • Telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation (Draeger systems) • Ventilator management from nasal cannula to full ventilatory support • Trauma care and rapid assessment of unstable patients • Medication titration and infusion management • Familiarity with arterial lines, CVP, Swan-Ganz, IABP and Impella (unit will train where needed) • Experience with rapid transfuse equipment and hypothermia protocols • Proficiency with EPIC charting and acute care documentation • Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
