Registered Nurse - PCU/MedSurg/Oncology common times include 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM, 7:00 PM - 11:00 PM, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM. Every other weekend required. Hours per Week: 36
Roles & Responsibilities • Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care for adult PCU, Oncology and MedSurg patients • Assess, monitor and respond to hemodynamic changes using CVP, A-line, Swan and EV-1000 monitoring • Administer and titrate medications and drips (including insulin and occasional cardizem) safely and per protocol • Support chemotherapy administration awareness and collaborate with oncology team (chemo certification preferred) • Perform hourly rounding and contribute to an excellent patient experience • Chart accurately in EPIC and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members • Mentor teammates, assist with charge duties when required, and maintain unit teamwork and morale
Qualifications • Active RN license (state license required) • ACLS and BLS (AHA) required • NIHSS required • ONS/ONCC and chemotherapy certification preferred but not required • Minimum clinical experience: at least 1 year (posting indicates up to 2 years preferred) • Comfort with ventilator care and other critical care competencies (training available on unit) • Ability to pass a skills pass/fail orientation exam (90% required)
Education • Nursing diploma, ADN or BSN accepted (BSN not required per posting)
Knowledge & Skills • Strong skills in EPIC charting and documentation • Experience with Alaris IV pumps and advanced IV medication administration • Competency in hemodynamic monitoring and telemetry • Familiarity with oncology patient care, chemotherapy considerations and PCU/stepdown workflows • Ability to titrate medications safely and respond to critical changes • Excellent teamwork, communication and patient-centered care skills
