Our Client is currently seeking Med Surg for positions in Peoria, Illinois for a 3x12 Nights, 19:00:00-07:00:00, 12.00-3 shift. The ideal candidate will possess a current Illinois license. This is a RN position in the SFMC - Pediatric Acute type:Peds (Pediatrics). You must have a Nursing License and at least 2 years of recent experience as a RN Med Surg. Department: Pediatric Acute | RN • Beds: We share our unit with Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. We occupy 22 beds on the unit and Peds Hem/Onc occupies 10 beds. We have the ability to expand/swing into each units beds depending on census. • Nurse: Patient Ratios: 4 patients • Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Medical/surgical patients. Ex- hyperbili, neuro, diabetes, failure to thrive, Cystic fibrosis, COVID, ortho. • Is there a Charge Nurse &/or House Supervisor on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Charge RN 24/7, Pediatric crisis RN 24/7, administrative supervisor support 24/7. • Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: PCTs- ration 1:8-10. • Pediatrician in house 24/7?: Hospitalist is in house until approx. midnight. 24/7 resident coverage. • RT Equipment: Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot?: Heated high flow, Bipap both with specific parameters in place. • Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: We do care for monitored patients. There is a Pediatric monitor tech who watches the patients and will contact caregivers with concerns. The monitor tech is watching monitors on the Peds ICU unit. • Shifts & Scheduling: RNs work 12 Hr. shifts 0700-1930 or 1900-0730. • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend. Dayshift weekend is Sat/Sun. Nightshift weekend is Fri/Sat. • Holiday Requirement: Holidays are required unless discussed and approved during interview phase. • Is there Call or a Standby requirement?: Not mandatory at this time. • Floating Requirements: RNs can float within the children's hospital - to other pediatric units, can float to mom/baby to take care of a baby assignment. No ICUs unless experienced, no chemo patients. • Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs provided?: Any color or pattern scrub top can be worn as long as they are pediatric appropriate. Scrub tops must not be revealing. Can wear a solid color long sleeve underneath scrub top or a scrub jacket if cold. Scrub pants must be a solid color and must not be revealing. • Unit/Department specific orientation: 2 shifts and can be extended if needed (this will require approval from management and unit educator).
