Our Client is currently seeking ICU - Intensive Care Unit for positions in Peoria, Illinois for a 3x12 Days, 07:00:00-19:00:00, 12.00-3 shift. The ideal candidate will possess a current Illinois license. This is a RN position in the DMCC - High Acuity Unit type:ICU (Intensive Care Unit). You must have a Nursing License and at least 2 years of recent experience as a RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit. Unit Notes: • # of Beds: 8 • Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:2-3 • Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS • Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Respiratory failure, post surgical, wound care, IV antibiotics, post CVA, post trauma, cardiac patients • Experience or 'Must have' skills: PEG tube care/feedings, CVC/PICC/Midline usage and care, tracheostomy patients. Caring for sedated, ventilated patients, titrating vasopressors, sedation and pain control drips. • Are RNs required to titrate drips?: yes • Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl, Versed, Lasix, Insulin, Amiodarone, Nitro, Levophed, Dopamine, Cardizem. Most ICU level drips are applicable. • Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? House Supervisor available 24/7. • Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: No. Nurses provide primary care in the ICU. • Hospitalist &/or Intensivist in house 24/7? In the ICU 24/7? On dayshift only. Otherwise, tele-health MD available after hours. • RT in ICU 24/7?: Yes. Available in house 24/7. • RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot?: Yes to all • Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: All 8 ICU beds are hard wired Phillips telemetry monitors in the room and they are centrally monitored in the ICU by the telemetry tech posted in the ICU. • Shifts & Scheduling: 12 hr shifts, 7-730 • Weekend Requirements: Every other and to fill holes. • Holiday Requirements: Holiday rotation and to fill holes. • Is there a call or standby requirement?: Not at this time but subject to change. • Floating Requirements: ICU RNs may float to MS unit. • Scrub Color/Dress Code: Scrubs only. Only OSF approved t-shirts are approved. Any color. • How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: Classroom orientation per OSF policy and 2 shifts on the unit with a preceptor.
