Registered Nurse - CVICU may float to other ICUs and Tele units as needed. Hours per complete required dysrhythmia competency testing. Maintain sterile technique during procedures and perform central line dressing changes and Foley management. Collaborate with respiratory therapy on ventilator management and support for complex patients. Care for patients supported by IABP, ECMO, CRRT, Swan-Ganz catheters, and other advanced devices. Serve as a charge/resource nurse when assigned, coordinating care and supporting the team. Float to other ICUs and Tele units when needed, adapting quickly to varied patient populations. Participate in SIMs lab and unit training to demonstrate competency in procedural skills.
Qualifications • Active RN license in good standing for the state of practice • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience, CVICU/CTICU preferred • Level I trauma experience is required • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; CCRN strongly preferred • Strong IV skills and telemetry/dysrhythmia competency required • Willingness to complete and pass SIMs lab and unit-specific competency testing • Ability to comply with facility policies (travel teams must have vehicle; grooming and facial piercing policies apply; men must be clean-shaven for certain fit testing)
Education • Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required • Formal nursing education (ADN/BSN) expected though BSN requirement not specified
Knowledge & Skills • Critical care nursing for cardiac surgery recovery and high-acuity cardiac patients • Telemetry monitoring (Phillips) and dysrhythmia recognition • Central line care, Foley catheter management, and sterile field maintenance • Experience with IABP, CABG recovery, ECMO, CRRT, lung transplant and thoracic surgery care • Familiarity with Cerner EMR and documenting in an acute care setting • Strong collaboration with Respiratory Therapy and multidisciplinary teams
