Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery exact days vary by schedule) Hours per Week: 36
Roles & Responsibilities • Provide expert, compassionate labor and delivery care from admission through delivery and postpartum, ensuring patient-centered outcomes • Continuously monitor fetal and maternal status using Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) and act promptly on any changes • Assist and support obstetric procedures performed on the unit including versions, circumcisions and C-sections as needed • Perform newborn resuscitation and stabilized care per NRP and STABLE protocols when required • Document thoroughly and accurately using Meditech Expanse and CPN Connect to keep the care team informed • Collaborate closely with nurses, providers, unit leadership and support staff to deliver smooth, team-based care • Educate and counsel patients and families on labor, delivery and postpartum care to empower informed decisions • Contribute to a positive patient experience by providing empathetic, respectful care and supporting patient preferences (doulas, massage therapy requests, etc.)
Qualifications • Active RN license (state licensure appropriate for assignment) required • Minimum: 2 years of experience (job text lists Experience: 2) with demonstrated L&D and postpartum (PP) experience • Required certifications: NRP, C-EFM, BLS • Optional/desired certifications: STABLE and PALS a plus • Comfortable assisting with and responding to C-sections, versions and newborn procedures • Ability to document in Meditech Expanse and use CPN Connect • Team player who can float to support other units as needed and follow unit policies
Knowledge & Skills • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) interpretation and application • Labor & Delivery and Postpartum (LDRP) clinical skills and patient ratios • Meditech Expanse and CPN Connect electronic documentation • Newborn resuscitation and stabilization (NRP, STABLE concepts) • Ability to assist in operative births and perioperative newborn care • Strong patient education, communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills • Familiarity with unit equipment (beds, pumps, EFM) and staffing workflows
