Registered Nurse - ICU includes weekend coverage (typically 4 weekend shifts per pay period; weekend nights often Fri-Sat or Sat-Sun variations); schedule published 4 weeks in advance; nights, first to float.
Hours per experience with Impella, TAVR, VADs, and post-op open heart care is a plus.
Willingness to float across ICU/PCU/MST and work required weekend and holiday coverage.
Education
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BSN not required
Knowledge & Skills
• Critical Care Nursing fundamentals (ICU and CVICU)
• EKG and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Ventilator management, weaning and troubleshooting
• Arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation
• Telemetry and continuous monitoring (Nihon Kohden systems)
• Titration of vasoactive and sedative drips
• CRRT (Prismaflex) operation and troubleshooting
• Management of mechanical circulatory support: IABP, Impella, VAD
• Post-op open heart care and fresh CABG/Valve patient management
• Manual proning techniques and advanced airway familiarity (Glidescope, HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP)
