Our Client is currently seeking Cardiac Cath Lab for positions in Soldotna, Alaska for a 5x8 Days, 09:00:00-17:00:00, 8.00-5 shift. The ideal candidate will possess a current Alaska license. This is a RN position in the Cardiac Services. You must have a Nursing License and at least 2 years of recent experience as a RN Cardiac Cath Lab. Position Description: General job duties. Types of procedures required. Performs the primary functions of a Registered Nurse in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care of all patients in Cardiac Cath Lab Services during his or her shift. Is responsible for meeting the established standards of Intensive Nursing Practice, for managing all assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment in the unit, and for promoting teamwork with physicians and personnel of other departments. Under general supervision, performs professional nursing, technical and administrative duties as they relate to the cardiac services department as assigned. Perform circulate, scrub and hemodynamic monitoring duties with diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, interventional radiology procedures, holding area procedures, and Imaging Department nursing care support using clinical knowledge, technical skills and professional judgment in accordance with professional and departmental standards and protocols to include moderate sedation. Provides care, assessment prior, during and post-procedural care and instruction to patients. Prepares and maintains all pertinent information related to procedures. Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. EPIC Required skills and minimum years of experience. • Graduate of a school of nursing; minimum of two (2) years nursing experience in cardiac cath or interventional radiology; experience to include patients undergoing moderate sedation; current Alaska Registered Nurse license; CPR certification through the American Heart Association (AHA); ACLS certification through AHA upon hire; demonstrates clinical competence in basic cardiac physiology/pathology, 12-Lead EKG interpretation; physiologic monitoring (intra cardiac pressure waveform knowledge), pacemaker operations (implantable and external) and other equipment related to cardiac care; ability to use radiographic equipment as requested or assigned. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor of Science in Nursing; four (4) or more years nursing experience in cardiac cath and interventional radiology; experience to include patients undergoing moderate sedation. Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. • Current Alaska Registered Nurse license; CPR certification through the American Heart Association (AHA); ACLS certification through AHA upon hire; PALS or ENPC certification through AHA within six (6) months of hire. Shift or schedule requirements. • Five 8 hour shifts per 7 day work week. • Call is required (this is a new service and will be determined based on staffing at time of start of service) • Some weekends may be required (this is a new service and will be determined based on staffing at time of start of service) Floating to other units/departments. Regular and supplemental staff complete a service partner orientation on the first day onsite in addition to department and service specific orientation conducted within the department. Regular staff attend a one day general orientation training. Additional Comments:This is a new service line to CPH. Anticipated start-up date is October 15, 2019, however, we would like staff hired by August 15-September 1 to complete required training.
