5 North consists of 36 private rooms and serves a patient population with ages that range from the young adult through the geriatric patient. Priority admission is given to patients requiring a medical level of cardiac care and recovering from a cardiac intervention. These interventions include, but are not limited to, cardiac surgery, coronary artery stent placement, and pacemaker implant. 5 North also admits hemodynamically stable non-procedural cardiac patients.
