• Skills: Experience in an inpatient setting is required, Med/Surg, Colostomy care, Accessing Ports, Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Heparin, Insulin, Surgical drains, Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac, Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac
• Certs: TRAVELER MUST HAVE ONC CERT! Traveler must be able to administer chemo if needed. BLS

JOB DETAILS:

• Target Ratios: 1:6
• Shift: NIGHTS weeks accepted
• Call Requirement: Call required if called off on a prescheduled shift.
• Float Requirement: Floating required to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients holding, such as inpatient holding in the ED, or any alternate medical patient care location.
• Weekend Requirement: *EVERY OTHER WEEKEND REQUIRED.**
• Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team.
• Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster.
• Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid contract may occur and the contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed

PATIENT DIAGNOSES:
• General medical-surgical diagnosis primary patient population.
• Administration of chemotherapy/biotherapy -IV, PO, or injection.
• AKI, Sepsis, Cancer, Septic shock, Pain, OD, Malignant Neoplasms, ARF, Encephalopathy, FTT, Diabetic foot ulcers, Heparin drips,

SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS:
• Daily Census 42.
• During times of increased census, typical ratios may be higher.
• Contract staff will be assigned equally to the home unit staff to ensure that patients are covered with a registered nurse
• Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team
• Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty, or disaster
• Contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed
• Like units includes floating to inpatient holding in the ED, or any alternate medical patient care location.
• Shifts called out will need to have make up shifts rescheduled.
• Attendance to monthly staff meetings.

UNIT SYSTEMS (Medication, Documentation, Communication):
• PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR.

UNIT ORIENTATION:
• 24 hrs (2 shifts)

SCRUBS:
• Navy Blue and white.

Special Equipment:
• **facility/manager willing to train oncology/chemo and help get certified if unit needs.

Candidate's perm address under 50 miles will be offered at a lower local rate. RTO - We can auto approve 7 days of RTO or less as long as it does not fall on a holiday. Anything more requires facility approval. Candidate MUST WORK 2 out of 3 major holidays. No RTO allowed during the first week of a traveler's assignment due to orientation.
