Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: • General Medicine - DM, GI, Resp, Renal, Wounds/Dressing Changes, chest tubes, trachs, lab draws required
Patient Ratios: • RN::1 • CNA: 8:1
Skills required: • Ability to provide direct and indirect patient care, strong interpersonal communication skills, ability to work collaboratively, solid written and oral communication skills, ability to tolerate moderate to high stress levels, and experience reading telemetry strips • Chest tubes, traches, PIV starts, drain & tubes, PCA pumps • Gtts management Amiodarone (occasionally), Fentanyl PCA, Ketamine PCA, Dilaudid PCA, Heparin
Support within the Department: • CNA: Duties Provides basic nursing care to assigned patients and assist RN where needed • Receptionist/HUC • Charge nurse • Phlebotomy • IV/VAT Team?
