This is a community-based hospital with 83 inpatient beds and a 20 bed-emergency department. We are seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RT) to: Provide assessment and treatment of patients to this medical and surgical population. Is comfortable working autonomously using Respiratory Therapy Protocols. Be an important member of an interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care. Act as a resource to physicians and health care professionals. • Floating: Travelers are the first to float. The traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs. During the traveler s assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit to complete contract. • Local Radius: 50 miles from the facility • Local Rule: locals are not accepted • 1st Time travelers accepted in some units • License: must be in hand at submittal • Minimum experience required: Inpatient RN travelers must have completed two years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty they are submitting to. This is a hard requirement. • Pass/Fail Testing required with strict passing criteria. A telemetry exam will be required prior to start. The following criteria must be met in two attempts: • Adult Exam: 100% identification of lethal rhythms: Ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, asystole No incorrect answers on questions regarding 3rd degree heart blocks [1 incorrect answer will cause failure] Passing score of 80% or higher • Pediatric Exam Ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, asystole, and sinus bradycardia Passing score of 80% or higher • Attempts: Traveler will have two attempts to pass. If the individual does not pass on the second attempt their contract may be cancelled. If the traveler fails the second attempt they will submit a certificate of completion of a cardiac interpretation review course to Vaya before a third attempt will be assigned. If the traveler does not pass after three attempts Vaya will notify recruitment of the results.
