Roles & Responsibilities • Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations across age groups with accuracy and compassion • Operate and maintain sonography equipment (WinnMed uses Samsung systems) to capture diagnostic-quality images • Ensure thorough image acquisition and documentation to support referring providers’ decisions • Provide attentive patient care and clear communication before, during, and after exams • Follow department protocols and organizational standards to maintain patient safety and quality • Complete clerical tasks and exam documentation in the electronic medical record promptly and accurately • Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and clinical teams to optimize patient outcomes • Participate in quality assurance activities and equipment maintenance as needed
Qualifications • Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or equivalent • ARDMS registered or ARDMS registry eligible with requirement to obtain registration within one year of hire • American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification • Familiarity with sonography equipment operation and basic maintenance (Samsung experience a plus) • Two years of sonography experience preferred • Ability to read, speak, and write fluent English • Professional, patient-focused attitude and strong communication skills
Education • Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or equivalent • ARDMS registry eligible (must obtain ARDMS certification within 1 year if not already registered)
Knowledge & Skills • Proficient in diagnostic ultrasound imaging and image optimization • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and relevant imaging protocols • Skilled in patient positioning, scanning techniques, and compassionate patient care • Familiar with sonography equipment troubleshooting and routine maintenance • Comfortable with electronic medical records and accurate documentation • Strong attention to detail, time management, and ability to work independently • Understanding of HIPAA, infection control, and safety procedures
