Roles & Responsibilities • Perform comprehensive vascular ultrasound studies and adult echocardiography with precision — including contrast echocardiograms and treadmill stress echos • Operate GE ultrasound equipment and manage images in PACS while maintaining high image quality standards • Document all exams accurately in Epic and ensure charts are complete and audit-ready • Provide skilled general ultrasound exams across OB/GYN, breast, small parts, pediatric and portable settings as required • Respond professionally and promptly to on-call requests and weekend coverage needs • Assist with precepting clinicians and support a learning environment for new staff • Adhere to isolation precautions/PPE guidance and maintain patient safety and comfort throughout exams
Qualifications • Minimum 1 year of clinical ultrasound/echo experience (must have BOTH vascular ultrasound and echocardiography experience) • Proven competence in Adult Echo, Contrast Echo, and Stress Echocardiogram (Treadmill) — echo skills are a hard-stop requirement • Experience with general ultrasound exams (OB/GYN, breast, small parts, neonatal/pediatric as available) • Familiarity with Epic charting system (required) • Certifications preferred: ARDMS, RVT (ARDMS RVT), RDCS, CCI and BLS — candidates with these certifications are highly desired • Comfort with portable exams, procedures (ultrasound-guided biopsy/FNA, paracentesis) and working in an acute care, Level IV trauma short-term acute care setting
Knowledge & Skills • Vascular ultrasound: duplex, carotid, aorta, renal artery duplex, upper & lower extremity arterial/venous studies, Doppler and color flow • Echocardiography: adult echo, contrast studies, stress (treadmill) protocols and M-mode • General sonography skills across OB/GYN, breast, abdominal, pediatric and neonatal exams • Proficient use of GE ultrasound machines and PACS image management • Strong patient communication, comfort positioning and infection prevention practices (PPE/isolation precautions) • Ability to chart thoroughly in Epic and deliver exam results in a timely manner
