Speech Language Pathologist – UHC Staffing Speech Language Pathologist Location: Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania Start Date: 03-16-2026 End Date: 06-15-2026 Contract Type: Travel Contract Shift Type: Sunday-Saturday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (day) Hours per Week: 35
Roles & Responsibilities • Conduct thorough speech, language and swallowing assessments to identify patient needs • Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals that improve communication and safety • Deliver skilled therapy interventions across cognitive-communication and dysphagia areas • Document progress and treatment outcomes clearly and timely in the facility electronic records • Collaborate with nursing, PT/OT and families to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care • Educate patients and caregivers on home strategies, adaptive equipment and discharge planning • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to quality improvement efforts
Qualifications • Active Pennsylvania license as a Speech-Language Pathologist required • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent professional credential • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred or in progress • Current CPR/BLS certification preferred • Prior experience in skilled nursing, inpatient rehab or medical-surgical settings is a plus • Strong documentation skills and familiarity with clinical outcome measures
Education • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)
Knowledge & Skills • Skilled in evaluation and treatment of dysphagia and safe swallowing protocols • Proficient with speech, language and cognitive-communication therapy approaches • Strong goal writing, clinical reasoning and progress-tracking abilities • Comfortable collaborating across disciplines and coaching caregivers • Familiarity with electronic health record documentation and regulatory requirements • Excellent verbal and written communication with patients and care teams
